Welcome to… Inverness Township, Michigan

Inverness Township is a civil township of Cheboygan County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 2,261 at the 2010 census, and was named after Inverness in Scotland. The township has a total area of 37.2 square miles and is bordered by the City of Cheboygan on the northeast and Mullett Lake on the southeast.

For your convenience, we now have an after hours drop box located outside the office door at the Township Hall.

PLEASE NOTE:  Due to a scheduling conflict, the Budget public hearing for the fiscal year 2025-2026 has been moved to Monday, March 10, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. at the township hall.
